CALL FOR APPLICATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NATIONAL QUALITY AWARDS
COMPETITION SEASON 7- 2026

The Ministry of industry and Trade through Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) in collaboration with Zanzibar Bureau of Standards (ZBS) and Private Sector, is calling for Institutions, Companies and individuals to participate in the National Quality Awards Competition Season Seven (7) for the year 2026.

The closing date for entries is 31st July, 2026 at 23:59 hrs. Entries submitted after this deadline will not be accepted.

COMPETITION CATEGORIES:

CATEGORY 1: BEST COMPANY OF THE YEAR

Two awards, SME and LE: awarded to a company or organization that has pro-actively and effectively implemented quality principles.

CATEGORY 2: BEST PRODUCT OF THE YEAR

Two awards, SME and LE: awarded to a product that best reflects a commitment to quality.

CATEGORY 3: BEST SERVICE PROVIDER OF THE YEAR (PRIVATE COMPANY)

Two awards, SME and LE—awarded to a locally-delivered service that best reflects commitment to local production and quality. This category is open from all sectors from private services.

CATEGORY 4: BEST SERVICE PROVIDER OF THE YEAR (PUBLIC INSTITUTION)

One award for Public Institution (Government) which has it service delivery system aligned to local, regional or international standards.

CATEGORY 5: BEST EXPORTER OF THE YEAR (Agro Processing) 

Two awards, SME and LE – awarded to a company or organization dealing with agricultural products that has made significant progress in commencing or expanding to new or wider markets by introducing quality in their company.

CATEGORY 6: BEST EXPORTER OF THE YEAR (General products)

Two awards, SME and LE – awarded to a company or organization dealing with other product that has made significant progress in commencing or expanding to new or wider markets by introducing quality in their company.

CATEGORY 7: INDIVIDUAL AWARD TO A PERSON WHO CONTRIBUTED TO SQAM

This award is given to an individual that has made significant input into National Standards, Quality Assurance, Accreditation and metrology efforts that contributed to the improvement of National Quality infrastructures.
